Job description:

Nino Salvaggio is seeking a Cafe Associate for our Clinton Township location.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including coffee, tea, smoothies, and other specialty drinks to customers.
  • Serve food items, such as hot soup, baked goods, and pizza, ensuring proper preparation as necessary.
  • Follow company recipes to prepare food items consistently.
  • Greet customers warmly and provide prompt, courteous, and exceptional service.
  • Process customer transactions efficiently using the cash register, adhering to all company procedures.
  • Manage a multi-line phone system, routing calls as required.
  • Maintain an organized display and replenish stock of all coffee bar supplies, including beverages, condiments, utensils, and baked goods.
  • Uphold a neat and professional appearance at all times.
  • Handle damaged or spoiled products according to departmental guidelines and assist in minimizing losses.
  • Ensure the cafe’s cleanliness and adherence to safety and sanitation policies at all times.
  • Immediately report any safety concerns or equipment issues to management.
  • Assist in training new associates as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Previous experience in cash handling and customer service is essential.
  • Experience in a coffee bar or cafe setting is preferable.
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for eight or more hours continuously.
  • Ability to operate equipment safely and correctly is necessary.
  • Strong multitasking capabilities, a positive attitude, and effective problem-solving skills are required.
