Job description:

Homestead Health Care is seeking compassionate and experienced Caregivers to provide essential support to our residents in Utica, MI. The Caregiver will assist residents with activities of daily living while offering companionship and emotional support. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for helping others, alongside excellent communication skills that foster meaningful relationships with our senior residents. We are currently hiring for 3rd Shift positions.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the environment, which may involve light housekeeping duties.
  • Report any changes in the resident’s condition to the supervisor promptly.
  • Communicate in a professional manner with families, support services, and colleagues at Homestead.
  • Comply with all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
  • Prior experience working with the elderly is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work every other weekend is required.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.
  • Valid Driver’s license or ID required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, and punctuality for shifts is essential.
  • Every other weekend availability is mandatory.
