Typical Shift
Your day will involve visiting the home of your assigned client, where their needs will determine the support you provide. Activities may include light housekeeping, companionship, assisting with outings, attending medical appointments, personal care tasks such as showering, toileting, medication reminders, grooming, and various activities of daily living (ADLs) or instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs). Please note that skilled nursing tasks, such as administering medications or wound care, are not part of the role. You will never visit a client’s home alone for the first time; your assigned senior care manager will accompany you to support your introduction to the senior you will be assisting.
