Responsibilities
- Provide personal hygiene assistance to elderly patients or individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, or accidents by attending to their basic needs including showering, bathing, dressing, and eating
- Remind clients to take prescribed medications and assist them with ambulation
- Facilitate mobility around the house or external locations (such as doctor’s appointments or walks)
- Assist with personal care and hygiene, meal planning and preparation, and support with physical therapy exercises
- Complete shopping tasks for clients or accompany them on shopping trips
- Perform housekeeping duties and report any unusual incidents
- Respond quickly and responsibly in emergency situations
- Engage clients in daily living activities by assisting them with meals, including serving as necessary
Qualifications
- Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting and demonstrate a willingness to continuously learn and improve skills
- Capability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodations
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required
- Proven ability to act compassionately and supportively
- Availability to work various shifts, including nights and weekends
- Minimum of one year of experience in healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environments is preferred
- Commitment to enforcing health and safety standards
- Supportive and compassionate demeanor
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience as a caregiver
