Job description:

Homestead Health Care is seeking compassionate and experienced Caregivers to provide dedicated care to our residents in Utica, MI. The Caregiver will assist residents with activities of daily living while also offering companionship and emotional support. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for helping others, possess excellent communication skills, and build genuine relationships with seniors. We are currently hiring for all shifts and encourage immediate applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the living environment, which may include light housekeeping duties.
  • Report any changes in residents’ conditions to the supervisor.
  • Communicate professionally with families, support services, and colleagues at Homestead.
  • Comply with all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Experience working with the elderly preferred.
  • Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work every other weekend.
  • Reliable transportation is essential.
  • Valid driver’s license or state ID required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, with punctuality for every shift.
  • Weekend availability is required.
