Job description:

Homestead Health Care is actively seeking compassionate and experienced Caregivers to provide exceptional care for our residents in Saginaw, MI. The Caregiver will assist residents with activities of daily living while offering companionship and emotional support. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for helping others, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and cultivate meaningful relationships with seniors. While no specific licenses or certifications are required, we prioritize individuals willing to undergo training; we are hiring immediately. Experience in medication administration is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, which may involve light housekeeping duties.
  • Report any changes in the residents’ conditions to the supervisor.
  • Communicate professionally with families, support services, and colleagues at Homestead.
  • Adhere to all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Successfully pass a criminal background check.
  • Experience working with elderly populations is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.
  • Valid driver’s license or ID is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team, with punctuality for all shifts.

Schedule:
This is a part-time position with Caregivers scheduled for 8-hour shifts.

Pay:
