Job description:

Homestead Health Care is seeking compassionate and experienced Caregivers to provide essential care to our residents in Clinton Township, MI. The Caregiver will assist residents with activities of daily living while offering companionship and emotional support. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for helping others, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to foster meaningful relationships with seniors. Experience with medication administration is a requirement, and candidates must be comfortable working independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
  • Administer medications according to physician directives.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the environment, which may involve light housekeeping tasks.
  • Report any changes in the resident’s condition to the supervisor promptly.
  • Communicate professionally with families, support services, and colleagues at Homestead.
  • Adhere to all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Prior experience working with the elderly is preferred.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work every other weekend is mandatory.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.
  • Possession of a valid Driver’s license or ID.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team while consistently arriving on time for shifts.

Schedule:
This is a part-time position. Caregivers will be scheduled for 8-hour shifts, with a requirement to work every other weekend.
