Responsibilities/Qualifications

Homestead Health Care is seeking dedicated and compassionate Caregivers to provide essential care and medication administration for our residents in Shelby Township, MI. The Caregiver will support residents with their activities of daily living while offering companionship and emotional support. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a genuine passion for helping others, possess outstanding communication skills, and establish meaningful relationships with seniors. We are currently hiring for First Shift on a part-time basis.

Responsibilities:
– Assist clients with activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
– Administer medications to residents in accordance with medical charts and adhere to documentation procedures.
– Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
– Maintain a clean and safe environment, which may include light housekeeping tasks.
– Report any changes in residents’ conditions to the supervisor promptly.
– Communicate professionally with families, support services, and Homestead coworkers.
– Comply with all safety and health standards, including infection control protocols.
– Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:
– Minimum age of 18 years.
– High school diploma or GED.
– Ability to pass a criminal background check.
– Experience in working with the elderly population.
– Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds.
– Availability to work every other weekend.
– Reliable transportation.
– Valid driver’s license or identification.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, with punctual attendance for every shift.
