Job description:

Homestead Health Care is currently seeking compassionate and experienced Caregivers to provide dedicated care for our residents in Utica, MI. The Caregiver will play a vital role in assisting residents with activities of daily living and offering companionship and emotional support. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for helping others, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with seniors. We are hiring immediately for all shifts.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to residents.
  • Maintain a clean environment, which may include light housekeeping duties.
  • Report any changes in residents’ conditions to the supervisor.
  • Communicate professionally with families, support services, and colleagues at Homestead.
  • Adhere to all safety and health standards, encompassing infection control procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possession of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Previous experience working with the elderly is preferred.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work every other weekend is required.
  • Reliable transportation is essential.
  • Valid Driver’s license or ID is necessary.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, and punctuality for each shift is crucial.
