Qualifications:

  • A genuine commitment to treating clients with kindness, dignity, and respect.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English, along with the ability to interpret the provided Plan of Care Document.
  • Reliable transportation to and from client locations is essential.
  • A valid U.S. driver’s license with current insurance.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check prior to employment with Senior Helpers.
  • Prior experience with dementia patients and senior care is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Availability to be contacted via phone or email for shift schedules, client updates, and emergencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide caring companionship and engaging conversations.
  • Assist with transportation for errands and appointments.
  • Aid in selecting appropriate apparel.
  • Support in meal planning and preparation.
  • Offer medication reminders.
  • Assist with mobility needs, including standby assistance, transfers, and the use of Hoyer lifts.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks.
  • Deliver personal care services, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene.
  • Manage household tasks, including laundry and changing linens.
  • Educate family members on safe caregiving techniques.
  • Carry out additional care-related duties as needed.
