Senior Helpers Ann Arbor is currently seeking dedicated, compassionate, and dependable caregivers to support our senior clients with essential daily activities, errands, transportation to medical appointments, and companionship. Primary Responsibilities:
– Provide companionship and engage clients in conversation
– Assist with personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, bathroom assistance, and feeding
– Perform light housekeeping and manage household tasks, such as laundry and linen changes
– Aid in apparel selection by laying out clothes as needed
– Plan and prepare meals
– Offer medication reminders
– Support mobility needs, which may include standby assistance, transfers, and use of a hoyer lift
– Provide transportation using either your own vehicle or the client’s vehicle
– Educate family members on safe caregiving techniques
– Be tolerant of small pets, including dogs and/or cats

Qualifications:
– Demonstrated ability to treat clients with dignity and respect
– Must be at least 18 years of age
– Minimum of one year of caregiving experience is required
– Proficient in reading, writing, and interpreting the Plan of Care provided by Senior Helpers, as well as documenting daily care notes
– Daily access to email, internet, and a mobile phone
– Valid driver’s license with no serious violations, active auto insurance, and access to a vehicle are required
– Ability to adapt and remain flexible in new situations
– Successful completion of a criminal background check and Secretary of State Driver’s record check prior to employment with Senior Helpers
– Prior experience with dementia patients and senior care is a plus, though not mandatory
– Availability to be contacted via phone or email for shift scheduling, client updates, and emergencies, along with access to wifi
