We are seeking dedicated, compassionate, and dependable caregivers to provide essential support to our senior clients in the Pinckney area. At Senior Helpers, our caregivers play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for seniors by assisting with daily activities, running errands, providing transportation to medical appointments, and offering companionship during the day while families are at work or school. Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide companionship and engaging conversation to clients.
- Assist with personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and feeding.
- Perform light housekeeping and household management tasks, including laundry and linen changes.
- Assist clients with apparel selection and outfit coordination.
- Plan and prepare nutritious meals.
- Remind clients to take their medications as scheduled.
- Offer mobility support, including standby assistance, transfers, and operating a hoyer lift when necessary.
- Provide transportation using either the caregiver’s or the client’s vehicle.
- Educate family members on safe care techniques.
- Maintain a friendly and tolerant attitude toward small pets, such as dogs and/or cats.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to treat clients with dignity and respect.
- Valid Driver’s License and auto insurance, along with reliable transportation.
- Possession of a Social Security number.
- A minimum of one year of experience in caregiving is required.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English at an adult level with the ability to interpret the Plan of Care Document provided by Senior Helpers.
- Driving capability is preferred but not essential; candidates must be able to use public transportation if needed.
- Hold a valid U.S. driver’s license with no serious driving violations.
- Flexibility and adaptability to new situations are essential.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check prior to employment with Senior Helpers.
- Prior experience with dementia patients and senior care is advantageous, although not required.
- Must be reachable via phone or email for shift scheduling, client updates, and emergencies.
