Job Summary:
As a team member, you will process member purchases in a friendly and courteous manner, including verifying, renewing, and upgrading memberships, scanning merchandise, and accepting various forms of payment. You will provide excellent service efficiently while maintaining the cleanliness of the front-line department.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities:

• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of BJ’s Membership options, emphasizing the importance of renewals and upgrades to our Loyalty programs.
• Promote relevant membership products, including renewals, easy renewal options, Loyalty programs, and rewards redemption.
• Provide high-quality customer service, ensuring timely and efficient checkout processes for members.
• Scan all merchandise using point-of-sale systems to ensure accurate inventory counts and purchase totals for members. Assist at self-checkout stations as needed.
• Process member payments via cash, check, or credit/debit card, issuing receipts or change accordingly.
• Remain updated on merchandise promotions, advertisements, and product information, applying discounts through coupon redemption.
• Maintain cleanliness in the front-line area and assist with general club housekeeping as necessary.
• Return resalable merchandise to the sales floor.
• Oversee self-checkout and scan-and-pan lanes, providing assistance with operations and technical difficulties.
• Meet cashier productivity expectations.
• Adhere to all club policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including assistance in other departments when required.
• Regular, predictable attendance is essential for this position.

Qualifications:

• Basic math skills preferred.

Environmental Job Conditions:
