Join a dedicated team of grocery professionals who excel in customer service each day! Nino Salvaggio is seeking a Cashier for our Troy location.

Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently process all customer sales transactions with professionalism, speed, and accuracy.
  • Count cash drawers at the start of each shift to verify accuracy and ensure sufficient change is available.
  • Interact with customers in a courteous and tactful manner.
  • Maintain clean and organized checkout areas.
  • Uphold a neat and well-groomed appearance in accordance with company grooming and dress standards.
  • Assist customers with bulk products, ensuring they are handled with care.
  • Process customer payments through various methods, including cash, check, credit card, debit, gift certificates, or EFT, while issuing receipts and change as necessary.
  • Bag and package merchandise following established company policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to all company alcohol sales guidelines, as well as federal, local, county, and state regulations.
  • Complete and pass Responsible Alcohol Sales training and retraining programs.
  • Aid customers in locating products within the store.
  • Appropriately handle returned items, ensuring perishable products are returned promptly.
  • Assist in training new associates as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred, though not mandatory.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Availability on weekends is necessary.
  • Previous cash handling experience is preferred.
  • Prior customer service experience is essential.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to manage all forms of payment for recorded transactions effectively.
  • The ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods (8 or more hours) is required.
  • Must be able to regularly bend, lift, and/or move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, lifting, and/or moving of up to 30 pounds is required.
