What You’ll Do
The Cashier plays a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and facilitating seamless transactional experiences for our valued customers. As the frontline representative of our brand, you will be responsible for greeting customers, processing transactions accurately, and cultivating a welcoming store environment.

• Surpass customer expectations by delivering outstanding service through clear communication and active listening.
• Welcome customers warmly upon their arrival at the store.
• Utilize the Cashier script to guide customers through transactions and inform them about company programs such as the loyalty program, RK Visa, and RK Plus Protection Plan (RKPPP).
• Accurately implement cash management, return, layaway, and exchange policies in accordance with company guidelines.
• Maintain professional, upbeat communication with all Rural King associates and customers.
• Provide product information and address basic customer inquiries, offering recommendations as needed.
• Collaborate with loaders to promptly assist customers with their requests.
• Conduct transactions efficiently while prioritizing timely service and professionally resolving price disputes.
• Position yourself in the designated area in front of the registers to indicate your availability to assist customers when not engaged in a transaction.
• Highlight the benefits of joining the Rural King loyalty program, explaining aspects such as special offers, points accumulation, and tailored recommendations.
• Utilize the assigned cashier script to engage with customers during transactions.
• Introduce the advantages of the Rural King Visa card, emphasizing its exclusive offers, rewards, and flexible financing options.
• Answer incoming calls at the registers with exceptional phone etiquette, presenting yourself as a professional representative of Rural King.
• Ensure accurate reconciliation of registers and thorough filing of paperwork.
• Effectively deactivate EAS (Electronic Article Surveillance) devices or spider-wrapped products as required.
• Remain vigilant to prevent loss (shrink) while delivering exceptional customer service.
• Thoroughly execute cashier duties, including stocking coolers, cleaning front windows, and managing registers.
• Refill popcorn and coffee stations promptly to enhance the customer experience.
• Keep shopping carts and restrooms clean and well-maintained to ensure a positive environment for customers.
• Utilize general office equipment, such as telephones, copy machines, fax machines, calculators, and computers.
• Engage in cross-training to enhance versatility across various departments and responsibilities.
• Actively participate in learning initiatives, including training programs, workshops, and webinars, to acquire new knowledge, improve skills, and stay updated on industry developments.
• Provide friendly, proactive, and professional support to both internal and external stakeholders, addressing inquiries and concerns effectively.
