Key Responsibilities:
– Develop weekly dining room menus utilizing personal or established recipes.
– Supervise food preparation while ensuring adherence to quality, presentation, and sanitation standards, verifying that portion sizes and department protocols are consistently met.
– Oversee kitchen equipment performance, ensuring efficient operation, while guiding team members in maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas, including walk-ins and freezers. Ensure proper breakdown, rotation, labeling, dating, and storage of food supplies.
– Actively manage food costs within parameters established by culinary leadership.
– Fulfill opening, closing, and side work duties as directed, adhering to established guidelines.
Qualifications:
– A minimum of two years’ experience as a Line Cook, Lead Line Cook, or Kitchen Supervisor.
– Strong communication skills, enabling effective interaction in a leadership role.
– Detail-oriented with basic math skills to accurately calculate and follow recipe measurements.
– Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments.
– No formal college degree is required.
Physical Requirements:
– Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
– Capacity to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods, occasionally engaging in pushing and pulling of equipment, mops, and brooms.
– Manual dexterity sufficient to chop, mix, blend, and whip various foods and liquids.
