Job description:
Delaware North Sportservice is seeking a seasonal Catering Supervisor to become an integral part of our team at Comerica Park in Detroit, Michigan. In this role, you will report directly to the department manager and will be responsible for overseeing the seamless operation of all event spaces. Your duties will include training and supervising catering team members, ensuring adherence to our high standards of food preparation, presentation, and service. Pay Rate: $19.00 – $22.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
- Train and supervise catering team members
- Ensure all food preparations, presentations, and service align with company standards
- Oversee responsible alcohol service and address any violations
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of events
- Address guest inquiries and resolve complaints
- Maintain cleanliness and proper stock levels in all workstations, pantries, and storerooms
Qualifications:
- Minimum of six months of experience in a hotel, full-service restaurant, catering facility, or club environment is required
- Strong attention to detail along with solid organizational and leadership capabilities
- Ability to perform accurately, efficiently, and courteously in a high-pressure setting
- Effective communication skills to interact with guests and convey menu information and service preferences
- Basic mathematical skills for accurate cash and inventory management
- A college degree is not required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds for setup, service, and cleanup
- Capability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift, including navigating stairs and lifting as required
- Ability to work in varying temperature conditions, moving between the hot, noisy environment of the kitchen and the climate-controlled dining area
- Potential to work in confined or narrow spaces
