We are currently seeking to fill a part-time Catering to You Associate position, with immediate hiring available.

Location: McLaren Lapeer Regional Food and Nutrition Department, 1375 North Main Street, Lapeer, MI 48446. Please note that we accept online applications exclusively.

Schedule: This is a part-time role with varying days, encompassing the hours of 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM, along with rotating weekends. Further details will be provided during the interview process.

Requirements: While prior customer service or experience as a waiter/waitress in a fast-paced environment is preferred, it is not mandatory.

Compensation: The pay rate for this position is $14.00 per hour.

Job Summary: The primary responsibility of the Catering to You Associate includes overseeing patient food service within assigned units. This encompasses menu selections, tray assembly, and delivery, accommodating special requests, and managing inter-meal food service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Communicate effectively with nursing departments, clinical dieticians, and associated personnel to ensure exemplary patient service.
• Introduce new patients to the “Catering to You” program, adhering to established scripted methods.
• Collect menu selections from patients prior to meal service, offering dietary alternatives based on food allergies, sensitivities, and cultural or religious preferences.
• Assemble meal trays in alignment with patient menu selections and facilitate the retrieval of trays from patient rooms.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO requirements.
• Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to the patient’s rights policy in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Implement Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines during food handling, workstation sanitation, and tray line breakdown.
• Follow established infection control policies and procedures within the facility and department.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
