Position Purpose:
Food and food service delivery drivers play a vital role in the food supply chain of our nation. Our delivery drivers ensure that products are delivered to customers promptly and in excellent condition, serving as the face of our company and establishing enduring relationships with clients.

As a driver, you will be responsible for operating a tractor-trailer or straight truck for intrastate and interstate local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes. Your primary goal will be to deliver and/or unload food and related products safely and efficiently, while adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:
– Professionally communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers, ensuring inquiries are addressed accurately and promptly.
– Collaborate as a team member within the department and organization, performing any assigned duties to best serve the company.
– Conduct all required safety checks, including pre/post-trip inspections of the vehicle and trailer, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
– Report any safety concerns or repair needs.
– Adhere to all DOT regulations and company safe driving policies.
– Promptly report safety hazards and verify that trailers are loaded and secured appropriately.
– Perform count checks and verify customer invoices for loaded products.
– Accurately complete all required paperwork associated with freight.
– Move tractors to loading docks and attach preloaded trailers as necessary.
– Follow predetermined delivery schedules to drive and deliver customer orders.
– Unload products from the trailer and transport them to designated storage areas.
– Conduct damage control checks, scan items, and coordinate with supervisors regarding order removals as per company policy.
– Confirm delivery of items with customers and obtain the necessary signatures.
– Collect payments (cash or checks) when required, and securely load customer returns onto the trailer.
– Ensure that the tractor, trailer, and freight are properly secured at all times.
– Manage the unloading of damaged goods and returns, completing necessary documentation as required.
– Maintain a daily record of hours worked in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
– Perform general housekeeping duties within the tractor, loading dock area, and trailers as needed.
– At the end of each shift, secure all equipment and complete all necessary documentation.
– Carry out other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
– Minimum of 12 months of commercial driving experience.
– High school diploma or GED, or a state-approved equivalent.
– Valid CDL A license.
– Compliance with all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
– Must be at least 21 years of age.
– Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past three years.
– Ability to pass a post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
– Successful completion of a road test.
– Valid current DOT Health Card or ability to secure one.
– Capable of hand-lifting and using a two-wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to handle product cases/freight of varying sizes and weights; products typically range from 10 to 35 pounds, with some items weighing up to approximately 60 to 90 pounds, depending on location.
