Position Purpose:
Our food and food service delivery drivers play a vital role in sustaining the nation’s food supply chain. In addition to ensuring timely and safe delivery of products to customers, our drivers serve as ambassadors of the company, fostering lasting relationships with clients.

The driver is tasked with operating a tractor trailer or straight truck for intrastate and interstate routes, including local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight deliveries, while adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:
– Engage professionally with customers, vendors, and colleagues, providing accurate and timely responses to inquiries.
– Collaborate as a team member within the department and organization, executing responsibilities as assigned to further the company’s objectives.
– Conduct essential safety checks (i.e., pre/post trip) and perform inspections of the tractor/truck and trailer in compliance with DOT regulations, ensuring safety standards are met.
– Document and report all safety concerns and necessary repairs.
– Adhere to all DOT regulations and company safe driving policies.
– Promptly report safety hazards and verify that trailers are adequately loaded and secured.
– Execute item count checks and confirm the accuracy of customer invoices for loaded products.
– Accurately complete all necessary paperwork associated with freight in a legible manner.
– Drive to customer locations and deliver orders according to a predetermined route schedule.
– Unload products into designated storage areas at customer sites.
– Conduct damage assessments on items and report discrepancies to the supervisor per company policy.
– Confirm delivery with customers and obtain appropriate signatures.
– Collect payments (cash or checks) as required and manage customer returns securely.
– Ensure all vehicles and cargo are secured adequately.
– Handle damaged goods or returns according to company procedures and complete required documentation.
– Maintain records of hours of service and comply with Federal DOT, state, and company logging requirements.
– Perform general housekeeping within the vehicle, loading dock, and trailers to maintain cleanliness and organization.
– At shift end, secure all equipment and finalize necessary paperwork.

Qualifications:
– Minimum 12 months of commercial driving experience.
– High school diploma or GED, or a state-approved equivalent.
– Valid CDL A license.
– Compliance with all applicable state licensing and certification requirements.
– Candidates must be at least 21 years of age.
– Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past three years.
– Successful completion of a post-offer drug screening and criminal background check.
– Passing score on a road test.
– Valid DOT Health Card or ability to secure a new one.
– Capability to hand-lift and utilize equipment such as two-wheelers, lift gates, or other devices to move or stack product cases/freight, generally ranging from 10 to 35 pounds, and up to 60 to 90 pounds depending on the location.
