Position Details:
The average annual salary for this role is $85,000. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, starting in the early morning. Additionally, we offer a competitive $10,000 sign-on bonus.

Position Purpose:
Food and food service delivery drivers play a vital role in the nation’s food supply chain. Our drivers ensure that customer products are delivered on time and in optimal condition, serving as the face of our company and fostering long-lasting relationships with valued customers. The driver is responsible for operating a tractor trailer or straight truck for intrastate and interstate deliveries. This includes over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight drive-and-drop routes, ensuring the safe and timely delivery and unloading of food and related products, in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:
– Engage professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, ensuring accurate and timely responses to inquiries.
– Collaborate effectively as a team member within the department and organization, fulfilling any assigned duties to best serve the company.
– Conduct all necessary safety checks (e.g., pre/post-trip inspections) of the tractor/truck and trailer in accordance with DOT regulations, ensuring compliance with company safety standards and addressing any issues promptly.
– Report any safety concerns and necessary repairs.
– Adhere strictly to all DOT regulations and company safe driving policies.
– Promptly report safety hazards and inspect trailers to confirm that freight is loaded and secured properly.
– Perform inventory checks of items loaded and verify customer invoices.
– Accurately complete and maintain all required paperwork related to freight.
– Maneuver tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailers as required.
– Follow predetermined delivery routes to ensure timely delivery of customer orders.
– Unload products from the trailer and transport items to designated storage areas at customer locations.
– Conduct damage control checks on items, utilize scanning devices, and coordinate with supervisors regarding order removals, in line with company policy.
– Confirm delivery of items with customers and obtain appropriate signatures.
– Collect payments (cash or checks) as necessary, ensuring secure handling of customer returns.
– Ensure that the tractor, trailer, and freight are properly secured at all times.
– Manage the unloading of damaged goods and customer returns, completing requisite paperwork.
– Maintain a daily record of hours of service in compliance with Federal DOT, state, and company regulations.
– Perform general housekeeping duties within the tractor and loading dock areas, ensuring trailers are kept clean and clear.
– Secure all equipment and complete necessary paperwork at the end of each shift.
– Execute additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
– A minimum of 12 months of commercial driving experience.
– High school diploma/GED or equivalent certification.
– A valid CDL A license.
– Compliance with all state licensing and certification requirements (as applicable).
– Must be at least 21 years of age.
– A clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past three years.
– Successful completion of post-offer drug tests and criminal background checks.
– Passing of a road test.
– A valid current DOT Health Card or ability to secure a new one.
– Capability to hand-lift and use a two-wheeler, lift gate, or other equipment to move or stack freight cases of varying sizes and weights during the shift, typically ranging from 10-35 pounds, with some items weighing between 60 and 90 pounds, depending on the location.
