Position Purpose:
Food and food service delivery drivers play a vital role in the nation’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers ensure that customers receive their products on time and in excellent condition, acting as the face of our company and fostering lasting relationships with our clients. The Driver, Formula CDL-A is responsible for operating a tractor-trailer or straight truck on local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes to deliver and/or unload food and related products safely and punctually, in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:
– Engage and communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, ensuring inquiries are addressed accurately and promptly.
– Collaborate as a team member within the department and organization, performing assigned duties to effectively serve the company’s needs.
– Conduct all mandated safety checks (e.g., pre/post-trip inspections) on the tractor/truck and trailer, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
– Report any safety concerns or required repairs.
– Adhere to all DOT regulations and company driving guidelines and policies.
– Promptly report safety hazards and ensure that cargo is loaded and secured correctly.
– Perform inventory checks and verify customer invoices for loaded products.
– Complete required paperwork related to freight accurately and legibly.
– Position the tractor at the loading dock and attach preloaded trailers as necessary.
– Deliver customer orders according to the established delivery schedule.
– Unload products, transporting them to designated storage areas for customers.
– Check for damages, scan items, and notify supervisors about order removals in accordance with company policy.
– Confirm the delivery of items with customers and obtain required signatures.
– Collect payments (cash or check) where applicable, and load customer returns onto the trailer securely.
– Ensure that the tractor, trailer, and freight are secured at all times.
– Handle damaged goods and customer returns appropriately, completing necessary paperwork.
– Maintain a record of service hours in compliance with Federal DOT, state, and company regulations.
– Uphold cleanliness and housekeeping standards in the tractor, loading dock area, and trailers as required.
– Secure all equipment and complete necessary paperwork at the end of the shift.
– Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
– High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
– Minimum of 6 months of commercial driving experience.
– Valid CDL-A required.
– Must be at least 21 years of age.
– Comply with all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
– Maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
– Pass a post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
– Successfully complete a road test.
– Obtain or maintain a valid DOT Health Card.
– Ability to lift and utilize equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates to manage product cases/freight of varying sizes and weights, generally ranging from 10-35 pounds and up to 60-90 pounds, depending on the location.
