Position Purpose:
Food and food service delivery drivers play a vital role in the national food supply chain. Our delivery drivers ensure that customer products arrive at their destinations punctually and in excellent condition, representing our company and cultivating lasting relationships with customers.
The Driver, Formula CDL-A is responsible for operating a tractor-trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight drive and drop routes to deliver and/or unload food and food-related products in a safe and timely manner, adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Primary Responsibilities:
– Professionally communicate and engage with customers, vendors, and co-workers, ensuring accurate and timely responses to inquiries.
– Collaborate as a team member within the department and organization, executing any duties assigned to best serve the company.
– Carry out all required safety checks (i.e., pre/post trip) and inspect the tractor/truck and trailer to ensure compliance with DOT regulations as well as company safety standards, taking appropriate actions as necessary.
– Report any safety issues or repairs needed.
– Adhere to all DOT regulations and company driving policies regarding safety.
– Immediately report any safety hazards and ensure trailers are inspected for properly loaded and secured freight.
– Conduct count checks of items and verify customer invoices for loaded products.
– Accurately complete all necessary paperwork related to freight in a clear and legible manner.
– Maneuver the tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailers as needed.
– Drive to and deliver customer orders according to a predetermined route delivery schedule.
– Unload products from the trailer and transport items into designated storage areas at customer locations.
– Perform damage control checks on items, scan them, and communicate with supervisors about removing orders according to company protocol.
– Verify delivery of items with the customer and obtain required signatures.
– Collect payments (cash or checks) when necessary, load customer returns onto the trailer, and secure the trailer doors.
– Ensure that the tractor, trailer, and freight are properly locked and secured at all times.
– Unload damaged goods and customer returns, and complete necessary paperwork upon check-in, while also removing trash from trailers as required.
– Maintain a daily record of hours of service and log entries in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company regulations.
– Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor, loading dock area, and ensure trailers are kept clean and organized.
– At the end of the shift, secure all equipment and complete any required paperwork.
– Execute other related duties as assigned.

Full Time
Required Qualifications:
– High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
– Minimum of 1 year commercial driving experience
– Valid CDL-A
– Must be 21 years of age or older
– Comply with all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
– Maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years
– Successfully pass post-offer drug tests and criminal background checks
– Pass road testing
– Possess or be able to secure a valid current DOT Health Card
– Ability to hand-lift and utilize equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying sizes and weights, generally ranging from 10-35 pounds and up to approximately 60-90 pounds depending on the location
