Position Details:

Position Purpose:
Food and food service delivery drivers play an essential role in the country’s food supply chain. Our drivers ensure that customer products are delivered on time and in excellent condition, serving as the face of our company and fostering lasting relationships with clients. The driver is responsible for operating a tractor-trailer or straight truck across intrastate and interstate routes, ensuring the safe and timely delivery and unloading of food and related products, all in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Primary Responsibilities:
– Maintain professional communication and interactions with customers, vendors, and co-workers, ensuring inquiries are addressed accurately and promptly.
– Collaborate effectively as a team member within the department and organization, performing any duties assigned to support the company’s objectives.
– Conduct all mandatory safety checks (e.g., pre/post-trip inspections) of the vehicle and trailer in accordance with DOT regulations, ensuring compliance with company safety standards.
– Report all safety concerns and necessary repairs.
– Adhere to all DOT regulations and company safety driving protocols.
– Immediately report any safety hazards encountered during operations.
– Inspect trailers to confirm proper loading and securement of freight.
– Perform item count checks and review customer invoices for loaded products.
– Complete all required paperwork associated with freight in an accurate and legible manner.
– Move the tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailers as necessary.
– Follow predetermined delivery routes to ensure timely execution of customer orders.
– Unload products from the trailer and transport them to designated storage areas at customer locations.
– Conduct damage control inspections on delivered items, scanning and reporting any issues per company policy.
– Verify delivery with customers and obtain necessary signatures.
– Collect payment as required and secure trailers against unauthorized access.
– Process damaged goods and customer returns in accordance with company procedures, ensuring all paperwork is completed.
– Maintain records of daily hours of service in compliance with Federal DOT, state, and company regulations.
– Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor, loading dock area, and within trailers.
– At the conclusion of each shift, secure all equipment and finalize all paperwork.
– Execute other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
– High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
– A minimum of 6 months of commercial driving experience.
– Valid CDL-A license.
– Must be at least 21 years of age.
– Compliance with all state licensing and/or certification requirements (if applicable).
– Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
– Successfully pass a post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
– Pass a road test.
– Obtain or possess a current DOT Health Card and/or the ability to secure a new DOT Health Card.
– Capable of hand-lifting and utilizing equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates to move and stack product cases/freight of varying sizes and weights (generally 10-35 pounds, with some items weighing up to 60-90 pounds).
