The average annual compensation for this position is $85,000, with a work schedule from Monday to Friday starting in the early morning. Additionally, we offer a $10,000 sign-on bonus.

Position Purpose:
Our food and food service delivery drivers play a vital role in sustaining the nation’s food supply chain. They ensure that our customers receive their products on time and in excellent condition, serving as the face of our company and cultivating lasting relationships with clients.
The driver is responsible for operating a tractor-trailer or straight truck on various routes (intrastate, interstate, over-the-road, shuttle, and overnight). Their primary objective is to deliver and unload food and food-related products safely and promptly, adhering to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Primary Responsibilities:
– Effectively communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers, providing accurate information in a timely manner.
– Collaborate as a team member within the department and organization to best serve the company.
– Conduct all required safety checks, including pre/post trip inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards, taking appropriate action as needed.
– Report any safety issues or necessary repairs immediately.
– Comply with all DOT regulations and company driving policies.
– Inspect trailers to confirm they are properly loaded and secured.
– Perform item counts and review customer invoices for accuracy regarding loaded products.
– Ensure all required paperwork related to freight is completed accurately and legibly.
– Position the tractor at the loading dock and connect preloaded trailers as necessary.
– Navigate routes to deliver customer orders according to a predetermined delivery schedule.
– Unload products efficiently, transporting items to designated storage areas within customer facilities.
– Conduct damage control checks on items, scan them, and inform a supervisor of any orders that need to be removed as per company policy.
– Confirm delivery with customers and secure necessary signatures.
– Collect payments (cash or checks) when required, and load customer returns onto the trailer, securing the trailer doors.
– Ensure that the tractor, trailer, and freight are secured appropriately at all times.
– Process damaged goods and customer returns, completing the required paperwork and unloading all equipment and materials as necessary.
– Maintain a daily record of hours of service and log them in accordance with federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
– Perform general housekeeping duties within the tractor and loading dock areas, ensuring trailers are kept clean and organized.
– At the end of each shift, secure all equipment and complete all necessary documentation.
– Carry out any other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
– Minimum of 12 months of commercial driving experience.
– High school diploma or GED, or state-approved equivalent.
– Valid CDL A license.
– Meet all applicable state licensing and/or certification requirements.
– Must be at least 21 years of age.
– Maintain a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
– Successfully pass a post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
– Pass a road test.
– Hold a valid and current DOT Health Card, or be able to obtain one.
– Ability to hand-lift and utilize equipment such as a two-wheeler or lift gate to move/staple product cases and freight of varying sizes and weights, typically ranging from 10-35 pounds up to approximately 60-90 pounds, depending on location.
Preferred Qualifications:
– 6 months of delivery experience utilizing a hand truck and ramp.
– Familiarity with onboard computer and electronic log systems (e.g., PeopleNet).
– Experience with handheld point of delivery scanning systems (e.g., POD).
– Background in customer service-related work.
