Position Purpose:
Food and food service delivery drivers play a vital role in the nation’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers ensure that customer products arrive at their destinations on time and in excellent condition, representing our company and building lasting relationships with our clients.

Drivers are responsible for operating a tractor-trailer or straight truck on various routes, including intrastate and interstate local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight deliveries. They must deliver and unload food and related products to customers safely and in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:
– Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers to ensure timely and accurate responses to inquiries.
– Collaborate as a team member across the department and organization, performing duties assigned to support the company’s goals.
– Conduct all required safety checks, including pre/post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer as per DOT regulations, ensuring compliance with company safety standards.
– Report all safety issues or needed repairs promptly.
– Adhere to all DOT regulations and company driving policies.
– Identify and immediately address any safety hazards, ensuring trailers are loaded and secured properly.
– Perform item count checks and verify customer invoices for loaded products.
– Complete all required documentation related to freight accurately and legibly.
– Position the tractor at the loading dock and connect preloaded trailers as necessary.
– Drive and deliver customer orders according to a predetermined route and schedule.
– Unload products from the trailer and transport them to designated customer storage areas.
– Inspect items for damage, scan as necessary, and communicate with a supervisor regarding the removal of orders in accordance with company policy.
– Confirm delivery of items with customers and obtain necessary signatures.
– Collect payments (cash or checks) as required, and secure customer returns onto the trailer.
– Ensure that the tractor, trailer, and freight are securely locked at all times.
– Manage the unloading of damaged goods and customer returns, completing necessary paperwork before checking in.
– Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the tractor, loading dock area, and trailers.
– At the end of each shift, secure all equipment and finalize all necessary documentation.
– Undertake additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
– Minimum of 12 months of commercial driving experience
– High school diploma or GED, or state-approved equivalent
– Valid CDL A license
– Compliance with all state licensing and certification requirements (as applicable)
– Must be at least 21 years of age
– Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years
– Success in passing post-offer drug tests and criminal background checks
– Successful completion of a road test
– Valid current DOT Health Card or the ability to secure a new one
– Ability to lift and utilize various equipment, such as a two-wheeler or lift gate, to move product cases or freight of varying sizes and weights throughout the shift, generally ranging from 10-35 pounds and occasionally up to 60-90 pounds, depending on location.
