Job description:
First Merchants Bank is seeking a dedicated Customer Relationship Representative to join our team. This full-time position is designed to deliver exceptional customer service through the accurate and efficient execution of banking transactions while recommending products and services that align with the current and future financial needs of our customers. We are committed to supporting you in exceeding personal sales and service objectives while providing a meaningful customer experience.

In this role, you will:

– Deliver outstanding customer service by:
– Responding promptly to customer requests for banking transactions.
– Addressing customer inquiries and providing solutions that fulfill their immediate needs.
– Fostering customer loyalty and advocacy.

– Contribute to the overall operations of the banking center by:
– Balancing cash, daily transactions, vault, and ATM.
– Ensuring compliance with regulations and reporting requirements.
– Adhering to information security policies and verification procedures to safeguard customer privacy.
– Assisting with the opening and closing of the banking center.

– Actively engage in a high-performance sales environment by:
– Promoting bank products and facilitating customer referrals to support organizational goals.
– Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of all bank products.
– Participating in daily and weekly meetings as well as coaching sessions.

– Lead and mentor colleagues by:
– Training and guiding staff in operational and sales skills.
– Attending and completing required training sessions.
– Taking an active role in driving sales and service initiatives at the banking center.
– Assisting in operational tasks and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.

To succeed in this position, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

– High School Diploma or equivalent.
– A minimum of six months of experience in selling products or services.
– At least one year of sales, banking, or related experience.
– S.A.F.E. Act Registration upon employment via the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS), to be obtained within three months of the hire date.
– A Notary Public designation, to be acquired within twelve months of employment.

Preferred qualifications include:

– Prior banking experience.
– Proven ability to sell and cross-sell banking products and services.
