Job description:
Join the Nutrition Services team at Corewell Health and contribute to enhancing the lives of our residents and their families by engaging in all aspects of patient meal service. This role involves providing bedside customer service, coordinating menu selections, educating patients on less complex diets, and maintaining accurate patient information within our software systems to ensure nutritional needs are fulfilled. Additional responsibilities include assembling patient trays, cleaning and sanitizing dishes and equipment, delivering and retrieving meal trays, and managing food stock. Effective communication and collaboration with team members are essential to ensure seamless service and promote a positive working environment.
Essential Functions
- Answer phones and process diet orders, special diet instructions, transfers, discharges, and guest tray information. Screen diet orders for accuracy as needed.
- Update and maintain patient data files within the appropriate software system/database.
- Assemble and verify tray tickets/menus for consistency with the software system/database, troubleshooting variances and making necessary adjustments.
- Write special diets as required.
- Provide and post production tallies for food items to the designated food service area according to the scheduled time.

Qualifications
Required
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant customer service experience, either via phone or in person; familiarity with customer service in managed health care, basic diet and nutrition knowledge, and strong time management and organizational skills.
Preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in high-volume call centers and Electronic Medical Records.
