Job description: Please rewrite the following job description to sound more polished and professional while keeping all the key details intact: Our client is a very well established manufacturer of special machinery–they have an immediate need for a CMM OperatorPosition Summary:The CMM Operator operates CMM equipment to perform measurement, inspection, and testing of production materials and components using previously prepared inspection programs. The CMM Operator documents and reports non-conforming part geometry and dimensions and performs in-process/final inspections.Duties and Responsibilities:· Use engineered drawings to create programs and operate CMM equipment to measure parts per engineering specifications;· Determine quality (pass/fail) of manufactured parts based on dimensional inspection;· Complete and maintain detailed and accurate dimensional inspection reports and analysis of inspection data;· Maintain quality standards using acceptable housekeeping practices and 5s processes on equipment and work area;· Be responsible for the operation and upkeep of all the measuring equipment, including calibration;· All other duties as assigned.This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.   • Minimum of a AS engineering degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience reading & interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Previous experience with a wide range of precision measuring equipment including CMM in a manufacturing setting is preferred
  • ISO training is a plus
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and closely follow directions is essential
  • Should have a positive and professional attitude

Work Environment:Office / Manufacturing environment. Employee may be occasionally exposed to moving equipment, mechanical parts in motion, risk of shock and other hazards associated with a manufacturing environment such as overhead cranes, welding, machining.This is an office-based position that requires walking, sitting, standing, bending, reading, seeing, hearing, speaking, concentrating, and effectively communicating.
