In this role, the Communication and Engagement Lead is integral to nurturing a deep sense of connection and empowerment within the Enterprise Technology (ET) team. This position will focus on developing and executing strategic internal communication plans, analyzing employee feedback—such as insights from voice surveys—supporting leadership in strategic initiatives, and designing programs to improve team dynamics and psychological safety.

Key responsibilities include managing the planning and execution of significant Enterprise Technology events, including Global Town Halls and business reviews. This is a collaborative role that requires outstanding communication, project management, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Internal Communications Strategy & Execution: Craft and implement a comprehensive internal communication strategy to ensure clear, consistent, and timely information dissemination within the ET team. This involves creating engaging content across varied channels (e.g., email newsletters, intranet, presentations, videos) and tailoring communication styles for diverse audiences.
  • Employee Engagement & Feedback: Analyze data from employee voice surveys and organize feedback sessions to identify trends, gauge employee sentiment, and inform communication strategies aimed at enhancing engagement and morale.
  • Team Dynamics & Psychological Safety: Develop and implement initiatives to promote positive team interactions, bolster psychological safety, and cultivate a culture of inclusivity and collaboration within ET. This may encompass workshops, training sessions, team-building exercises, and more.
  • Event Planning & Management: Organize and execute a variety of ET events, including Global Town Halls, business reviews, and team meetings, ensuring smooth logistics, speaker coordination, agenda creation, and effective communication throughout the event lifecycle.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and sustain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the ET organization—encompassing leadership, managers, and employees—to align on communication and engagement initiatives.
  • Measurement & Reporting: Track and analyze key metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of communication and engagement initiatives, reporting progress to leadership. This may involve measuring employee satisfaction and the impact of specific programs.
  • Content Creation: Produce high-quality, engaging content for internal communications, including drafting, editing, and designing materials for diverse platforms.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork: Collaborate closely with other members of the communication and engagement team, as well as cross-functional teams, to ensure seamless execution of initiatives.
  • Budget Management: Potentially manage budgeting for communication and engagement activities.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in large IT organizations or enterprise communications teams.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in leading and mentoring teams of 5 or more members, showcasing leadership skills that include:
    • The ability to lead team formation and member development.
    • The capacity to influence diverse groups towards achieving results collaboratively.
    • Proficiency in applying agile principles and effectively managing change.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to present to various participants at all leadership levels.
    • Excellent leadership, consulting, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Outstanding project management and planning skills to ensure strategic projects are completed on schedule and to the highest quality.
    • An aptitude for cultivating and maintaining close professional relationships.
    • The ability to structure and visualize complex problems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Master’s Degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience leading enterprise communications teams.
  • A foundational understanding of Ford’s global ET organization, technical domains, and job families.
