Key Responsibilities:
– Design and create weekly dining room menus utilizing personal or established recipes.
– Supervise food preparation to ensure adherence to quality, presentation, and sanitation standards while verifying that portion sizes and departmental policies are consistently maintained.
– Ensure the efficiency of all kitchen equipment while overseeing team members in the cleaning and food production areas. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of walk-ins and freezers, and supervise the proper breakdown, rotation, labeling, dating, and storage of food.
– Actively manage food costs within parameters established by culinary leadership.
– Perform opening, closing, and side work duties as instructed, following established guidelines.
Qualifications:
– A minimum of two years of experience as a Line Cook, Lead Line Cook, or Kitchen Supervisor.
– Strong communication skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively.
– Detail-oriented with basic math skills sufficient for understanding, calculating, and following recipe measurements.
– Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
– No formal college degree is required.
Physical Requirements:
– Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
– Capable of standing, walking, and bending for the duration of the shift, with occasional pushing and pulling to move equipment, mops, and brooms.
– Manual dexterity sufficient to chop, mix, blend, and whip various foods and liquids.
