As a Construction Team Member, you will be engaged in various construction tasks, including rough carpentry, installation of windows and doors, caulking, backing installation, and basic construction clean-up.

Essential Functions:

  • Report to work in professionally appropriate attire, maintaining a neat and clean appearance
  • Understand various construction divisions
  • Adhere to established safety procedures and maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Read and analyze blueprints
  • Study blueprints and specifications to prepare project layouts and determine necessary dimensions and materials
  • Shape or cut materials to specific measurements using hand tools, machines, or power saws
  • Mix mortar, plaster, and grout manually or with machines according to standard formulas
  • Erect scaffolding and other necessary installation structures
  • Cut materials to specified sizes for installation with power saws or tile cutters
  • Adjust procedures for moving, mixing, grouting, grinding, polishing, or cleaning materials based on installation needs
  • Maneuver materials such as marble slabs using cranes, hoists, or dollies
  • Assist the property development team through all phases of construction as needed
  • Complete special projects as assigned by Executive Officers
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality
  • Follow all Suburban Inns processes

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum Knowledge: Ability to interpret and extract information, perform arithmetic functions, and possess strong typing, record-keeping, and communication skills.
  • Education and Experience: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent experience is required.
  • Licenses and Certifications: A valid driver’s license, signed nondisclosure agreement, background check clearance, and an Equipment Operator permit (preferred).
  • Safety: Adhere to all safety policies and procedures; attendance at construction site meetings may require climbing ladders, traversing rough terrain, and exposure to noise and dust.
  • Travel: Some travel to other Suburban Inns locations and off-site meetings may be necessary.

Uniform and Appearance Guidelines:

  • Uniform: Construction attire, closed-toe steel-toed shoes, hard hat, and safety green shirt
  • Appearance: Facial piercings must receive management approval; hair should be well-groomed. All tattoos not covered by work uniforms require prior written approval from management. Tattoos deemed offensive based on race, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, or other sensitive characteristics must be concealed at all times. This policy will be enforced by the supervisor without discrimination. The CEO retains the authority to override any supervisor’s decision.
