As a Construction Team Member, you will be responsible for various construction-related tasks, including rough carpentry, window and door installation, caulking, backing installation, and general construction clean-up.

Essential Functions:

  • Present yourself in professional attire, maintaining a neat and clean appearance.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of various construction divisions.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain a safe workspace.
  • Interpret and analyze blueprints.
  • Utilize specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layouts and determine necessary dimensions and materials.
  • Shape or cut materials to specified measurements using hand tools, machinery, or power saws.
  • Mix mortar, plaster, and grout according to standard formulas, either manually or with equipment.
  • Erect scaffolding or other structures as needed.
  • Cut materials to required sizes for installation using appropriate tools.
  • Adapt material handling and installation techniques based on project requirements.
  • Move or position materials, such as marble slabs, using cranes or dollies.
  • Collaborate with the property development team throughout the construction phase of various projects.
  • Participate in special projects as requested by Executive Officers.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Adhere to all Suburban Inns processes and policies.

Position Requirements:

  • Knowledge: Must be able to interpret information, perform basic arithmetic, and possess excellent communication skills alongside proficiency in typing and record-keeping.
  • Education: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent experience is required.
  • Licensure: Valid driver’s license, signed nondisclosure and confidentiality agreement, and successful background check are mandatory. An Equipment Operator permit is considered an asset.
  • Safety: Compliance with all safety policies and procedures is required. Job performance may necessitate climbing ladders, navigating rugged terrain, and exposure to construction site conditions such as noise and dust.
  • Travel: This position may require travel to other Suburban Inns properties and attendance at off-site meetings.

Uniform and Appearance Guidelines:

  • Uniform: Construction attire, including closed steel-toed shoes, hard hat, and a safety green shirt.
  • Appearance: Approval is needed for all facial piercings by management. Hair must be well-groomed, and any visible tattoos not covered by a work uniform must receive prior written approval from management. Offensive tattoos, as determined by management based on various protected characteristics, must remain concealed at all times. This policy will be administered fairly by the supervisor of the position, with the CEO retaining authority to review any decisions made.
