Delaware North Parks and Resorts is seeking both full-time and part-time experienced Cooks to join our team at The Lodge at Geneva in Geneva, Ohio. As a Cook 3, you will demonstrate your culinary skills and serve as a prominent leader within the kitchen. In collaboration with the management team, you will be responsible for menu planning, ensuring food quality standards, training kitchen staff, operating kitchen equipment, adhering to health codes and sanitation regulations, and monitoring food quantities, labor, and overhead costs. Key Responsibilities:

– Review menus and customer orders to ascertain the types and quantities of food to be prepared, ensuring compliance with portion sizes, quality standards, and departmental policies. Maintain proper food temperatures, correct storage practices, and ensure freshness and quality in all menu items.
– Maintain a clean, organized, sanitized, and appropriately stocked workstation, along with the upkeep of the kitchen and storage facilities.
– Adhere to waste control guidelines and accurately record all waste on the spoilage sheet.
– Execute opening, closing, and side work duties, alongside performing end-of-day inventory, in line with established protocols.

Qualifications:

– A minimum of 2 years of experience in a back-of-the-house food service position.
– Proficient in reading and comprehending prep sheets and recipes.
– Basic math skills, with the ability to follow recipe measurements accurately.
– High school diploma or GED is not required.

Physical Requirements:

– Ability to lift up to 50 lbs to and from freezers and ovens; reach up to seven feet; twist, bend, and squat as needed.
– Standing and walking for the duration of the shift, often in moderate to high noise levels.
– Manual dexterity to chop, mix, blend, whip a variety of foods and liquids, and operate kitchen equipment.
– Exposure to varying temperatures.
