Delaware North Parks and Resorts is seeking both full-time and part-time experienced Cooks to join our team at The Lodge at Geneva in Geneva, Ohio. In the role of Cook 3, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your culinary skills and serve as a visible leader within the kitchen. Collaborating with management, you will be responsible for menu planning, food preparation to meet quality standards, training kitchen staff, operating kitchen equipment, adhering to health codes and sanitation regulations, and monitoring food quantities, labor, and overhead costs. Key Responsibilities:
- Review menus and customer orders to determine the type and quantities of food to prepare, ensuring compliance with portion sizes, quality standards, and departmental policies and procedures, while maintaining proper food temperatures and storage techniques.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstation, coolers, and equipment, ensuring a sanitary condition in the kitchen and storage areas.
- Follow waste control guidelines and accurately record all waste on the spoilage sheet.
- Carry out opening, closing, and side work duties, along with end-of-day inventory procedures as per established guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a back-of-the-house food service role.
- Ability to read and understand preparation sheets and recipes.
- Basic math skills, with an aptitude for calculating and following recipe measurements.
- High school diploma or GED is not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs to and from freezers and ovens, reach up to seven feet, and perform twisting, bending, and squatting movements.
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift in a moderate to high noise environment.
- Manual dexterity to chop, mix, blend, whip various foods and liquids while operating kitchen equipment.
- Exposure to variable temperatures.
