Position Overview
The Cook is responsible for preparing food in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, as well as our established policies and procedures. This role will be guided by the supervisor to ensure that quality food service is delivered consistently.
Key Responsibilities
- Review menus prior to food preparation
- Complete administrative tasks such as necessary forms and reports, submitting them to the Manager
- Maintain and archive menus in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Coordinate services with other departments as required
- Assist in serving meals in a timely manner while following established procedures
- Assist in standardizing operational methods
- Assume full authority, responsibility, and accountability in the role of Cook
- Help establish a food service production line to ensure timely meal preparation
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to prepare a variety of foods in large quantities
- Knowledge of dietary procedures
- Commitment to maintaining supplies, equipment, and the appearance of dietary service areas; perform regular inspections for sanitation, order, safety, and proper execution of assigned duties
