Position Summary
- Cook: Responsible for preparing and serving food, including texture-modified and therapeutic diets according to facility menus and compliance with federal, state, and local standards. Ensures quality dining services in alignment with established policies and procedures. Assists in proper receiving, storage, preparation, serving, sanitation, and cleaning procedures. May support Dietary Aides and direct other employees in the absence of the Dining Services Director.
- Safety: Utilize protective gear in all relevant functions and adhere to safety precautions while safely mixing and using cleaning solutions. Report equipment needs and malfunctions to the supervisor promptly and ensure compliance with established safety and quality guidelines.
- Punctuality: Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality, completing assigned areas as scheduled and responding promptly to paging systems.
- Customer Experience: Positively represent HCSG through courteous interactions with supervisors, colleagues, and client staff.
- Resident Experience: Engage in pleasant and tactful interactions with residents, staff, and guests.
Qualifications
- Exhibit a positive attitude with the ability to follow oral and written instructions while performing routine tasks.
- After completing appropriate training, demonstrate leadership skills while accomplishing responsibilities independently and safely.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with experience in food preparation. Completion of an approved sanitation and safety course may be required.
- Current ServSafe or Food Handler certification is mandatory based on state or county regulations.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Adherence to COVID-19 vaccination policies as required by state, local, and customer guidelines.
- Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds, push or pull up to 50 pounds, and maintain mobility (standing, sitting, bending, walking) throughout the workday.
- Capacity to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously and manage working around food and cleaning products.
- Residency within the service area is required.
