Position Summary
- Cook: Responsible for the preparation and serving of food, including texture-modified and therapeutic diets, in accordance with facility menus and applicable federal, state, and local standards and regulations. Whether directed by the Dining Services Director or during their absence, assist in ensuring proper receiving, storage, preparation, serving, sanitation, and cleaning procedures are adhered to.
- Safety: Utilize protective gear in all appropriate functions and ensure the safe and proper mixing and use of cleaning solutions, adhering to all safety precautions. Report any equipment needs or malfunctions to supervisors in a timely manner and follow infection control and universal precaution policies to maintain a sanitary environment.
- Punctuality: Demonstrate consistent attendance and punctual arrival, completing assigned areas in accordance with the schedule. Respond promptly to issued pages.
- Customer Experience: Represent HCSG positively by following instructions and maintaining a courteous and cooperative demeanor with supervisors, coworkers, and client staff.
- Resident Experience: Interact positively and tactfully with residents, staff, and facility guests.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate a positive attitude with the capability to follow both oral and written instructions, performing routine, repetitive tasks consistently.
- Exhibit leadership skills to fulfill all responsibilities autonomously after completing the required training while ensuring safety for oneself and others.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with experience in food preparation. Completion of an approved sanitation and safety course may be necessary.
- Current ServSafe or Food Handler certification is required as per State/County law.
- Must arrive at work as scheduled and on time.
- Compliance with COVID-19 Vaccination Policies, as required by State, Local, and/or clients.
- Must be able to lift and carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push or pull up to 50 pounds, and remain standing, sitting, bending, and walking for extended periods.
- Must be able to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously and work around food and cleaning products.
- Resident within the service area is necessary.
