Position Summary:
- Cook: Responsible for preparing and serving food, including texture-modified and therapeutic diets, in accordance with facility menus and current applicable standards. You will ensure adherence to proper procedures for receiving, storing, preparing, serving, and cleaning to maintain high-quality dining services, as directed by the Dining Services Director. In the absence of the Director, you may assist Dietary Aides and supervise team members with approval.
- Safety: Utilize appropriate protective gear, ensure the safe use of cleaning solutions, and report equipment or supply needs in a timely manner. Adhere to established standards and infection control policies to maintain sanitation.
- Punctuality: Consistently demonstrate timely attendance and complete assigned tasks according to schedule.
- Customer Experience: Represent HCSG positively by being courteous and cooperative with supervisors, co-workers, and client staff.
- Resident Experience: Facilitating positive interactions with residents, staff, and facility guests.
Qualifications:
- Exhibit a positive attitude and capability to follow verbal and written instructions, as well as perform routine tasks consistently.
- Utilize leadership skills post-training to independently accomplish responsibilities without injury.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, with food preparation experience being beneficial. Completion of an approved sanitation and safety course may be required.
- Current ServSafe or Food Handler certification is necessary based on local regulations.
- Reliability in attendance and punctuality is essential.
- Compliance with COVID-19 Vaccination Policies is required based on applicable regulations.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, push and pull similar weights, and stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods.
- Capacity to maintain routines involving food and cleaning products.
- Must reside within the service area.
