Position Summary
- Cook: Responsible for preparing and serving food, including texture-modified and therapeutic diets, in accordance with facility menus and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Ensure compliance with all quality dining service standards as determined by the Dining Services Director. Assist with receiving, storage, preparation, sanitation, and cleaning procedures as directed. In the absence of the Dining Services Director, provide necessary support to Dietary Aides and guide fellow employees with appropriate approvals.
- Safety Protocols: Utilize personal protective equipment as required and adhere to safety precautions in the mixing and use of cleaning solutions. Timely report any equipment or cleaning product needs or malfunctions to your supervisor. Maintain established safety and quality standards and follow infection control and universal precautions to ensure a sanitary environment at all times.
- Punctuality: Exhibit consistent attendance and punctuality. Complete assigned cleaning areas in a timely manner and respond appropriately to the paging system.
- Customer Experience: Represent HCSG positively by adhering to instructions and interacting courteously and cooperatively with supervisors, colleagues, and client staff.
- Resident Experience: Engage with residents, staff, and facility guests in a positive, pleasant, and tactful manner.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate a positive attitude with the ability to follow both oral and written instructions while performing routine, repetitive tasks.
- After completing necessary training, utilize leadership skills to perform responsibilities independently and safely.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred; prior experience in food preparation is also preferred. Completion of an approved sanitation and safety course may be required.
- Current ServSafe or Food Handler certification is mandatory as dictated by state or county laws.
- Must be consistently available as scheduled and arrive on time.
- Compliance with COVID-19 Vaccination Policies is required, as specified by state, local, and customer guidelines.
- Capable of lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling a maximum of 50 pounds, and engaging in standing, sitting, bending, and walking for extended durations.
- Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously.
- Must be able to work around food and cleaning products.
- Residence within the service area is required.
