Position Summary
- Cook: Responsibilities include preparing and serving food, including texture-modified and therapeutic diets, while adhering to facility menus and applicable federal, state, and local standards and regulations. You will assist in ensuring the correct protocols for receiving, storage, preparation, serving, sanitation, and cleaning are followed, as directed by the Dining Services Director. Additionally, you will support Dietary Aides and direct other employees when the Dining Services Director is absent.
- Safety: Responsible for safely mixing and utilizing cleaning solutions and adhering to safety precautions, you will report equipment and cleaning product needs or malfunctions promptly. It is essential to uphold established safety and quality standards while following infection control policies.
- Punctuality: Consistent attendance and punctual arrival are expected, along with timely completion of assigned tasks according to schedule.
- Customer Experience: Positively represent HCSG by being courteous and cooperative with supervisors, colleagues, and client staff.
- Resident Experience: Foster positive and respectful interactions with residents, staff, and guests.
Qualifications
- Demonstrates a positive attitude with the ability to follow oral and written instructions and perform routine tasks consistently.
- After completing the necessary training, you should be capable of executing all responsibilities without supervision and without compromising safety.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with experience in food preparation. Completion of an approved sanitation and safety course may be required.
- Current ServSafe or Food Handler certification is necessary in accordance with state or county regulations.
- Must demonstrate consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies is mandatory as required by state, local, and/or customer guidelines.
- Ability to lift/carry and push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, along with standing, sitting, bending, and walking for extended periods.
- Capability to perform repetitive tasks continuously and work in proximity to food and cleaning products.
- Must reside within the service area.
