Position Summary

  • Cook: Prepare and serve food, including modified and therapeutic diets, following facility menus and federal, state, and local standards. Ensure quality dining services per the Dining Services Director’s guidance, assist with proper receiving, storage, preparation, and sanitation, and support other employees as needed.
  • Safety: Utilize PPE in all relevant functions, ensure the safe mixing and use of cleaning solutions, report equipment or cleaning product needs to supervisors, and adhere to infection control standards.
  • Punctuality: Maintain consistent attendance, arrive on time, and complete assigned tasks according to the schedule.
  • Customer Experience: Represent HCSG positively through courteous and cooperative interactions with supervisors, colleagues, and client staff.
  • Resident Experience: Foster positive interactions with residents, staff, and guests.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate a positive attitude, with the ability to follow oral and written instructions and perform routine tasks repetitively.
  • Upon completing appropriate training, utilize leadership skills to fulfill responsibilities independently and safely.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Prior food preparation experience is advantageous. An approved sanitation and safety course may be required.
  • Current ServSafe or Food Handler certification is required based on state/county law.
  • Must maintain consistent punctuality and attendance.
  • Adherence to COVID-19 vaccination policies as mandated by state, local, and customer requirements is necessary.
  • Ability to lift or carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull up to 50 pounds, and stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously and work around food and cleaning products.
  • Must reside within the service area.
