Position Summary:

  • Cook: Responsible for preparing and serving food, including texture-modified and therapeutic diets, in accordance with facility menus and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The Cook will assist in ensuring proper food handling procedures related to receiving, storage, preparation, service, sanitation, and cleanliness are consistently followed. In the absence of the Dining Services Director, the Cook may direct other employees with appropriate approval.
  • Safety: Adhere to safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and cleaning solutions. Report any equipment or product issues to a supervisor promptly.
  • Punctuality: Maintain consistent attendance and adherence to the scheduled completion of assigned areas.
  • Customer Experience: Represent HCSG positively by demonstrating courtesy and cooperation with colleagues and clients.
  • Resident Experience: Engage in positive and respectful interactions with residents, staff, and facility guests.

Qualifications:

  • A positive attitude with the ability to follow directions and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to leverage leadership skills to manage responsibilities independently following appropriate training without risk of injury.
  • Preferred high school diploma or equivalent; experience in food preparation is advantageous. Completion of an approved sanitation and safety course may be required.
  • Current ServSafe or Food Handler certification is mandatory per state or county law.
