Job description:

A Cook is responsible for the preparation of all food items using standardized recipes for the Restaurant/Dining Outlet, Room Service, Employee Cafeteria, and Banquets while adhering to the highest standards to create visually appealing and appetizing dishes. The incumbent will ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and safety in the kitchen and work areas, with a focus on minimizing waste and maximizing cost-efficiency.

This is a part-time position for the afternoon shift, specifically on Thursdays and Fridays, with flexibility in scheduling.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred, along with relevant experience in a hotel or a related field.
  • Food Handlers Certification is required and must meet state regulations.
  • Ability to clearly convey information and ideas.
  • Skilled in quickly and accurately evaluating and selecting among alternative courses of action.
  • Capable of working effectively in high-pressure and stressful situations.

Responsibilities:

  • Approach all interactions with guests and associates in a warm and service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain consistent attendance in alignment with Aimbridge Hospitality standards, adapting to the hotel’s scheduling needs.
  • Uphold high standards of personal appearance and grooming by wearing the appropriate uniform and name tag while on duty, in accordance with brand standards.
  • Adhere to Aimbridge Hospitality policies and regulations to promote safe and efficient operations at all times.
  • Comply with certification requirements related to the position, including Food Handlers Safety.
  • Maintain a friendly and welcoming demeanor consistently.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of menus and preparation methods in line with hotel standards.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of all storage areas.
  • Complete necessary food and station preparations prior to the opening of the Restaurant/Dining Outlet/Café to ensure prompt and efficient guest service.
  • Prepare and display buffet items per Aimbridge Hospitality standards.
  • Maintain presence on the kitchen line during operating hours to prepare food to order while upholding high standards of efficiency, productivity, and quality.
  • Prepare food for Banquets following the specifications outlined in the Banquet Event Orders.
  • Prepare and serve food for the Associate Cafeteria as directed by restaurant leadership.
  • Follow Aimbridge Hospitality standard recipes in food preparation, with specials developed under the guidance of the restaurant leadership.
  • Dismantle buffets and kitchen lines, properly storing food and equipment at the conclusion of each meal period.
  • Work at the banquet food station as scheduled by restaurant leadership.
  • Be knowledgeable about the location and function of all fire extinguishing equipment.
  • Practice safe working habits to prevent potential injuries to oneself and colleagues.
  • Familiarize oneself with all hotel policies and house rules, as well as the hotel’s emergency procedures.
  • Utilize Production Charts as specified by Aimbridge Hospitality standards.
  • Remain attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests, managers, and fellow associates at all times.
  • Operate and ensure cleanliness of all kitchen equipment.
  • Adhere to the "Clean As You Go" policy.
  • Assist with the storage and rotation of food items according to hotel procedures.
  • Sign out and back in keys as required, under supervision.
  • Attend meetings as mandated by management.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
