Job description:

This position is tasked with preparing and serving nutritious meals for students in a safe and healthful manner. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and serving food in accordance with established menus and adhering to specified portion sizes as outlined in yield guides.
  • Performing cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning equipment and work areas, and washing dishes and pots.
  • Brewing coffee, replenishing beverage machines, and setting up hot and/or cold food service areas.
  • Delivering food to staff, students, and catering events as needed.
  • Ensuring compliance with all state, federal, and local health department regulations regarding safe food handling.
  • Adhering to all client location security protocols and guidelines.
  • Checking in and storing incoming supplies.
  • Following assigned break schedules.
  • Collecting and stripping trays for dishwashing and participating in the ware washing process when assigned.
  • Storing silverware, dishes, glasses, cups, pots, and other kitchen items appropriately.
  • Participating in the safety committee and attending all mandatory in-service training programs.
  • Managing POS and cash handling responsibilities, if applicable.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adhering to all Whitsons policies and procedures at all times.

Pay Rate: $16-$17/hour

Requirements:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of all Whitsons and mandated training as necessary.

Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies:

  • Proficient in speaking and reading English to effectively understand and perform job assignments.
  • A minimum of one year of professional food service experience is preferred.
  • Consistently demonstrating a positive and professional image.
