Job description:

Nino Salvaggio is actively seeking a Courtesy Clerk for our Clinton Township location.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Bag and package all customer purchases and merchandise in accordance with Nino Salvaggio International Marketplace bagging guidelines and standards.
  • Promptly clean up spills and manage breakages or leaks in containers, adhering to company guidelines to minimize hazards and prevent accidents.
  • Collect shopping carts from the parking lot regardless of weather conditions, returning them to designated areas and pick-up points.
  • Sort and properly handle all return-to-stock items, ensuring that perishable and refrigerated goods are returned correctly and promptly.
  • Manage damaged and/or spoiled products in compliance with company and department guidelines, assisting in the monitoring of damaged goods levels.
  • Provide assistance to customers with their orders and inquiries.
  • Aid customers with large or bulk purchases by transporting items to their cars and assisting them in loading their items.
  • Participate in housekeeping and maintenance duties as assigned, including sweeping and mopping.
  • Greet all customers promptly, delivering courteous service and assistance.
  • Maintain a neat and well-groomed appearance at all times, adhering to company grooming and dress standards.
  • Immediately notify management of any safety concerns, equipment issues, or violations.
  • Assist in training new associates as necessary.
  • Support other departments as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme cold, heat, snow, and humidity.
  • Willingness to work consistently outdoors.
  • Capability to stand and/or walk for periods exceeding eight hours.
  • Ability to regularly bend, lift, and/or move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Must safely push and pull multiple shopping carts.
  • Ability to push or pull weights of up to 50 pounds (for example, shopping carts).
  • Strong multitasking skills with a positive attitude.
