Job description:
This role is responsible for maintaining a high standard of customer service within the store’s front-end operations and supervising all front-end activities in the absence of the Customer Service Manager. The aim is to ensure that work shifts at the front end contribute to the store’s financial success. You will also be expected to complete all other assigned duties promptly.
Key Responsibilities:
– Accurately process all transactions, including cash, checks, debit/credit/EBT cards, and ensure compliance with policies related to over rings, credits, suspended orders, refunds, bottle returns, vendor coupons, gift certificates, lottery ticket sales, Western Union, Ticket Master, and other media.
– Ensure return-to-stock items are handled efficiently, prioritizing perishable goods.
– Maintain knowledge of product locations and current promotional items, special prices, and coupon deals relevant to the store’s sales program.
– Train team members in all departmental activities and functions.
– Oversee the selection, scheduling, and supervision of staff to achieve or surpass departmental productivity goals.
– Manage spoiled or damaged products according to established guidelines.
– Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked department.
– Adhere to all PPE and safety protocols, as well as food safety and cleaning expectations.
– Follow guidelines for guest experience and be adaptable to assist in other departments as needed.
– Additional responsibilities may be assigned as required.
Qualifications:
– High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
– Proficient in computer applications (email, spreadsheets, etc.).
– Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents effectively.
– Skills in accounting/bookkeeping and financial analysis.
– Experience in budget development and management.
– Capable of delegating, directing, and implementing tasks.
– Knowledge of suggestive selling techniques and product information.
– Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this position require the associate to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Prolonged standing and walking are required, along with frequent bending, stooping, twisting, and turning. While performing these duties, the employee will operate within a typical retail environment, exposing them to varied temperatures and outside weather conditions. The noise level will generally be low to moderate. Travel may be necessary depending on assignments.
