Objective: The Customer Service Representative plays a crucial role in providing exemplary service to Pridgeon & Clay customers, addressing their production needs while adhering to the company’s quality policies.

Minimum Requirements for Qualified Candidates:

  • A bachelor’s degree
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Strong problem-solving and communication abilities
  • Professional demeanor with the capacity to interact effectively with both internal and external customers
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Capacity to perform under pressure while managing requests from multiple customers
  • A solid work record, particularly in attendance

Desired Qualifications for Outstanding Candidates:

  • Relevant experience in the automotive industry
  • Familiarity with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, preferably QAD

Essential Functions:

Customer Service:

  • Manage customer orders and change requests through EDI, web-based portals, and spreadsheets, and accurately update the ERP system.
  • Assess delivery implications and resolve challenges to meet customer demands, including negotiating responsibility for premium freight when necessary.
  • Prioritize critical orders and inventory shortages, communicating needs to production, scheduling, and distribution centers.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers on customer visits to enhance and maintain strong relationships.
  • Contribute to customer-specific teams to provide insights and strategies that address both Pridgeon & Clay’s and the customer’s needs.
  • Assist in contract reviews and coordinate with the Accounts Receivable department regarding pricing and invoice discrepancies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Shipping:

  • Coordinate with distribution centers to ensure compliance with customer paperwork directives.
  • Acquire knowledge of international shipment guidelines and the required documentation.
  • Continuously engage with customer logistics platforms to ensure all shipment criteria are met, relaying essential information to the distribution center.
  • Obtain quotes from trucking companies for standard and expedited shipments as required.

  • Support lean initiatives, continuous improvement, and problem-solving initiatives to eliminate waste.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient personal workspace and adhere to 5S principles.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, including ISO, IATF 16949 standards, and safety regulations.
  • Foster effective communication with colleagues and management to bolster teamwork and shared initiatives.
  • Provide timely and accurate feedback to co-workers and management.
