Job description:
Place server racks on the data center floor with 100% precision using laser measuring devices. Populate electronic components and install cabling into server racks in accordance with provided diagrams and schematics. Effectively install rack hardware utilizing a variety of hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices. Operate material handling equipment, including straddle stackers, rack movers, and electric pallet jacks. Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on server racks, identifying and rectifying any hardware or cabling issues.
The ideal candidate will possess proficiency in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of server hardware, including rack-mount servers, network switches, and storage devices. A strong knowledge of server components and troubleshooting techniques is essential. Familiarity with basic networking concepts, such as IP addressing, subnetting, routing, and VLANs, is required. Experience with server operating systems like Windows Server and Linux, as well as virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V, is highly desirable.
Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces for extended periods. Comfort in performing physical tasks related to racking servers, cable management, and other data center operations is necessary.
