Job Summary:
Responsible for slicing, packaging, weighing, and selling a variety of deli products, including meats and cheeses. Maintain the presentation and cleanliness of the deli section, including display cases, while providing exceptional service to members in the deli department.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities:

• Provide superior customer service to members by addressing inquiries and recommending deli items. Answer member calls and manage special orders.
• Slice, package, and weigh deli offerings, assist members in product selection, and prepare special orders and party trays.
• Receive and inspect deli shipments, adhering to food safety and product handling standards while displaying, stocking, rotating, and storing deli products.
• Ensure product freshness and compliance with quality standards, checking for expired items daily and following appropriate salvage procedures.
• Maintain an extensive array of deli products in cooler shelves and display cases, restocking and rotating items as needed.
• Operate deli equipment in accordance with safety protocols.
• Clean and sanitize all deli equipment and food surfaces regularly.
• Ensure scale systems are functioning accurately for proper pricing and weighing.
• Adhere to all club policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including assisting in other departments as required.
• Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a deli department is preferred.
• Familiarity with manual/power slicers and scales is advantageous.
• Knowledge of deli products is a plus.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Environmental Job Conditions:

• Spend the majority of the time moving about frequently on hard surfaces, occasionally requiring bending, handling, pulling, reaching, and/or stooping to examine merchandise.
• Frequently lift objects weighing up to 30 pounds and assist in moving heavier and/or awkward items as needed.
• Operate in a comfortable indoor environment with regular exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and coolers, and frequent contact with cleaning agents.
